Well hello!

I've been told that, to promote myself as a writer, I need to set up a website or start a blog. And, given that the idea fills me with terror, there's really no better day to do it than Friday 13th. This is more of a hello post than a real blog and it's also an opportunity to share this week's good news.

So, yesterday, I officially became a published writer. My short story, A Taste of Spain, has been featured in the January edition of Yours Fiction Special under my pseudonym, Emma Dee.

And then, as if the week couldn't get any better, I have received an honourable mention for my short story, Daffodils, in the New Writers' Flash Fiction Competition 2022.

Even though I've given up the 9 to 5, I still feel the need to wait until Friday night to pop the cork on the bottle of bubbly that's waiting in the fridge.
